Translations

Today I spent some time trying to get the translation of a JKD kick known in our gym/dojo, as "Nal Tek". When I asked a friend from Singapore, he asked me for the Mandarin symbol of it in order for him to translate! Ug.. I don't even know if the way we say it is correct!
I have found that depending on what dojo I am training in, everything from counting and bow-ins, to moves and names of poomse are inevitably pronounced in different ways.(taekwondo in Korean, other arts Chinese etc) It gets frustrating never knowing what the correct pronunciation/translation is. If I were to ever travel to China or Korea I would definitely feel embarrassed by my lack of knowedge in this regard.
ANYWAY, so "no", I didnt have a symbol.
Next,I went to a Jeet Kun Do sight and looked up all the listed kicks ("tek"="kick") and could not find Nal tek.
Then, I asked another friend, (who lives in China and studies JKD) if he could translate it for me, and he kindly refered me to very good Mandarin Language website. erm.... it didnt have nal tek.
I'm kinda like a bull dog when it comes to not letting go of stuff. Stay tuned. I WILL figure this out eventually!
